Headteacher's Welcome

I have been permanent Headteacher at Cranbourne since May 2018 and I am proud to lead this exceptional school, providing gold standard education. Cranbourne students are happy and engage enthusiastically in our broad range of extra-curricular activities. Pastoral care is a key strength of the school, and we have a “settled and harmonious community, where students enjoy being part of a diverse group”. We have excellent, well qualified staff and subject specialist teachers in all areas.

I believe that young people should be able to follow their passions and find their strengths, building confidence as they grow. We teach a wide range of subjects supported by our excellent specialist facilities including an indoor swimming pool and functioning hair and beauty salon. Our most able children benefit from the “Cranbourne Plus” programme, which acts as a ladder to future success. Recently

ex-students have places at Oxford University, St Barts Medical School and places on high level apprenticeships. We are proud of our record with SEN and dyslexic students, who flourish in our Specialist Resourced Provision, the only one of its type in Basingstoke.

We place student needs at the centre of all we do and actively engage with parents, so that we can work together to get education right for our children. During the recent lockdown, we taught our children face to face every day and all students sat end of year exams as normal in July. It is this attention to detail and the willingness to “go the extra mile” for our families that sets us apart.

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed; I meet each visitor to the school personally and am proud to show them that we are “Excellent in Everything”.

Please accept this as a personal invitation to Cranbourne. We strongly encourage parents to bring their children to see Cranbourne in action during the school day.

Our House System

Cranbourne students are members of one of our four Houses. Each House has House Captains, Sports Captains and House Mentors to encourage and support every student. Each House has a Head of House and a Cranbourne Parent Partner (CPP) overseeing each student’s progress and pastoral care.

Cranbourne’s four Houses are dedicated to local people, who have achieved amazing things by following their passions and interests. They are true role models for Cranbourne students.

House and Sports Captains run many competitions and events. We always reward those who join in – no need to be a master or a genius!
